Meet the Chef
Executive Chef Daniel Escalona brings years of passion for cooking and creating to The Club at Colony Creek, a well-loved, family-friendly country club frequented by locals for its eclectic, extraordinary menu offerings and spectacular dining events. Chef Escalona was born and raised in Victoria, Texas and looks forward to sharing that love with more people in his hometown.
Growing up watching his mother and grandmothers prepare mouth-watering traditional Southern and Tex-Mex dishes was the spark that ignited the fire in Escalona’s belly, and he’s been working his way to the top ever since.
While growing up in Victoria, he started working in restaurants around the city at just 16, starting as a dishwasher, then a fry cook, and – eventually – prepping, cooking, and baking traditional Southern-style foods with the skills he honed through years of dedication, practice, and loving guidance.
Escalona learned from the best mentors who instilled in him the importance of a stellar work ethic and a never-ending need to learn and grow with the times. In 2010, Daniel joined the staff at The Club at Colony Creek where he was promoted to Executive Chef just two years later.
Today, Escalona still dazzles The Club at Colony Creek’s members every day with delightful Southern-style dishes and desserts with a “Daniel twist”, cementing The Club at Colony Creek as “the place to start and finish your day with the best happy hour and the best breakfast in the Crossroads”. Everything Escalona serves his customers is made with love and cooked just the way his Grandma used to do it.
